Sen. Kelly Ayotte isn’t even on the Senate Judiciary Committee, but she dug in her heels and refused to meet with any nominee to replace Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
However, an outpouring of letters to the editors, newspaper editorials, and a recent poll of likely voters call on Sen. Ayotte to rethink her position, as New Hampshire voters want their senator to do her job.
“Sen. Ayotte is only listening to the Republican leadership at this point, and ignoring voters in the Granite State. Letters to the editors, editorials, and op-eds are pouring out across her home state newspapers, and still she’s going to obstruct the democratic process,” said Eddie Vale, the Vice President of American Bridge 21st Century. “‘Let the people’s voice be heard’ is a good line from a politician, but you can’t ignore them when the people are overwhelmingly shouting ‘Do Your Job, Sen. Ayotte.’”
