Hard to Hear Senator Grassley’s Excuses Over Voters’ Chants of #DoYourJob

As Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Chuck Grassley is leading the Republican caucus to a no-win situation by obstructing any Supreme Court nominee hearings. And voters at home aren’t happy with him. They’re letting their senior senator know through numerous letters to the editor and newspaper editorials to knock it off and do his job. In today’s Washington Post, “Grassley said he was not concerned about the editorials or other feedback he’s gotten from Iowans on the high-court vacancy. ‘You can’t worry about those things, so don’t even ask me about whether or not I’m worried about re-election,’ he said.”

“Sen. Grassley is second only to Donald Trump for the harm he’s doing to the Republican Party right now. Every incumbent senator on the ballot this year shouldn’t be walking the plank Chuck Grassley is leading them,” said Eddie Vale, the Vice President of American Bridge 21st Century. “‘Let the people’s voice be heard’ would be a lot more convincing if the people weren’t overwhelmingly shouting ‘Do Your Job.’”
