Bridge Project Launches New Digital Campaign Featuring CBO’s Latest Analysis of Trumpcare

Based on the new Congressional Budget Office analysis of Trumpcare, Bridge Project is launching a new 6-second digital ad – ‘Heartbeat’ – targeting Republicans in Congress for support the dangerous legislation.  The CBO confirmed on Wednesday that Trumpcare would cost 23 million Americans their health insurance, cripple the ability of people with pre-existing conditions to get affordable coverage, deny one sixth of Americans access to essential health benefits, and slash Medicaid funding by over $800 billion – all in order to give hundreds of billions of dollars in tax breaks to the wealthiest.

To view Bridge Project’s new 6-second ad, “Hearbeat” click HERE.

The ad features the sound of a beating heart followed by a heart monitor flat-lining to illustrate the dangerous consequences of Trumpcare which are also featured in text on screen. It builds on American Bridge’s previously announced strategy of “highlighting the disastrous consequences of this law, the people […]

Ahead of CBO Score, New Bridge Project Video Highlights That Trumpcare Slashes Pre-Existing Condition Coverage

Before the CBO releases updated projections of the impact that Trumpcare would have on the American people, Bridge Project is launching a new video which highlights that Trumpcare would gut health coverage for pre-existing conditions, listing examples such as cancer, postpartum depression, strokes, and heart disease.

Click HERE To watch Bridge Project’s social video out today, “Trumpcare: What’s Protected?”

“Trumpcare would devastate working families and cripple health coverage for any American with a preexisting condition,” said Bridge Project spokesperson Andrew Bates. “This is a gut-wrenching betrayal of the most fundamental promises that Trump made to the American people during the campaign, and we’re going to make sure the public knows the truth about this bill. Congress ought to respect the will of the country and reject this disastrous bill.”

In order to buy-off the most radical Republicans in Congress, new provisions were added to Trumpcare in April that effectively cripple health coverage […]

New Bridge Project Digital Campaign Exposes Dangers of Trumpcare, Holds Republicans Accountable for Reckless Attack on Americans

Bridge Project is launching a new digital ad campaign today to expose the dangers of Trumpcare and hold Republicans accountable for passing this reckless bill that would cost 26 million Americans their healthcare. The campaign launches as Congress heads home for a week-long recess and will target 24 congressional districts across the country.

To watch the new ad, “Let’s Hold Them Accountable,” click HERE.

“If Trumpcare becomes law it would destroy millions of lives.  It would effectively deny coverage to people who need it, burden families who are already having a hard time making ends meet, and hollow-out Medicaid, all just to cut taxes for the rich,” said American Bridge President Jessica Mackler. “This bill represents a disgusting attack on the health and well-being of the country, and Republicans will be held accountable for this reckless plan that could make getting sick a financial death sentence.”

As the ad notes, the disastrous consequences of this bill […]

New Bridge Project Ad Takes On Trumpcare’s Latest Attack on Americans with Pre-Existing Conditions

As we close in on the 100th day of the Trump Administration, a new Bridge Project digital ad highlights Donald Trump’s latest cynical attempt to force Trumpcare through Congress – only this time with changes that would make it even more agonizing for American families.  Trumpcare would now give states a backdoor to roll back protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions, which is an assault on every American’s access to health care and would decimate the finances of millions across the country.

To watch Bridge Project’s new digital ad, “Trumpcare Guts Your Coverage,” click HERE.

“Donald Trump has used his first 100 days to turn his back on all of the people he spent the campaign promising to help. His self-serving agenda puts everyone else last, and Trumpcare’s tax-breaks for the very wealthy are a key example. But evidently it wasn’t devastating enough, as Republicans have now added a gigantic loophole that throws […]

New Bridge Project Trumpcare Ad Spotlights Trump Breaking His Promises

In advance of the House Trumpcare vote, Bridge Project is releasing a new digital ad that blasts Donald Trump for violating health care promises he made to the American people on the campaign trail.

This ad, “Was Anything He Said Not a Lie?” contrasts the assurances Donald Trump made to voters – that he would deliver better, cheaper health care for “everybody” – with the consensus among independent experts that Trumpcare would take health insurance away from tens of millions of Americans, as well as make health care costs spike for working and middle class families, seniors, and rural Americans.

The ad also highlights that many assessments show Trumpcare would disproportionately harm his own supporters – and shows Trump acknowledging this.

“Trumpcare betrays millions upon millions of vulnerable Americans that Donald Trump pledged he would help. This plan would kick millions off of their coverage – even more so than if Republicans simply repealed […]

VIDEO: American Bridge Releases GOP Fact Check on Women’s Health, “Hands Off Our Care”

Today, Bridge Project unveiled a new campaign to push back against Republican attacks on women’s health care – which can be found in their new ACA repeal bill. While Republicans claim that community health clinics can take the place of Planned Parenthood services, the facts say otherwise.

The campaign features a web video fact check of Republicans’ assertion that community health clinics could replace Planned Parenthood.

“For decades, women have trusted Planned Parenthood to help keep them healthy. The GOP seems hell-bent on getting rid of what is sometimes the only health care option for women,” said American Bridge President Jessica Mackler. “Ripping away health care options for women will have detrimental effects in communities all over the country. Women and families are already struggling to make ends meet and Republicans’ siege on health care will only make it harder […]

The Koch Conspiracy To Cut Off Millions Of Americans’ Access To Healthcare

It’s Medicaid’s 50th birthday, and the Koch brothers planned something special: a death panel.

In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Medicaid, Bridge Project today released a new report, “The Koch-Backed Effort to Kill Medicaid,” highlighting the Koch brothers ongoing assault on Medicaid, which they would give just about anything — hundreds of millions of dollars, anyway — to destroy.

And unlike some of their other, more subversive campaigns of destruction that prioritize their profit margins over the interests of the American public, the Kochs haven’t been too subtle on this one: the Kochs and Koch-funded groups have explicitly spoken out against Medicaid, advocated Medicaid-crippling budgets, and even attacked Republicans (!) for not supporting their Medicaid-destroying agenda.

This time, the Kochs are all-in. All-in to block state-level Medicaid expansions that would extend healthcare access to millions of Americans. All-in to strip healthcare from the millions who already benefit from the program […]

Kochs Still Preventing 600,000 From Getting Medicaid in North Carolina

The Kochs took a hit with the announcement of an Obamacare win in the King v. Burwell Supreme Court decision, but don’t expect that to stop them from doing their damnedest to prevent more people from getting covered. In response to the decision, the Kochs’ political strong arm, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) has already released a new ad against Obamacare. AFP and the Kochs are also campaigning hard to prevent the expansion of Medicaid around the country. The latest ACA news has brought back that fight into focus, with North Carolina as one of the key decision states.

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory already rejected the expansion back in 2013, but now the state has a second chance to help cover its nearly 600,000 uninsured residents. The latest calls for change have been met by AFP-North Carolina with dismissal. In a December post on their website, AFP-North Carolina Director Donald Bryson said that “refusing Medicaid […]

Hold your horses — Kochs and GOP will continue to fight ACA

More than six million Americans are breathing a sigh of relief today knowing they’ll be able to keep their affordable health insurance, but the scene at Koch headquarters is undoubtedly whipping into a frenzy. They’re gearing up for the next fight to prevent Medicaid expansion in the states and getting ready to bark orders at GOP politicians like Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush eager to follow their lead.

For people who prioritize return on investment, today’s ruling dealt a huge blow to the Kochs, who spent millions to bring King v. Burwell to the Supreme Court and to stop Medicaid expansion.  Now more than ever, they will work with conservative state governments and GOP candidates to push their extreme agenda.

With this latest defeat, the Kochs and their Republican allies are setting their sights on next year’s court decisions and, of course, the White House.
