Hard to Hear Senator Portman’s Excuses Over Voters’ Chants of #DoYourJob

Sen. Rob Portman made a lot more sense in 2013 when he put duty before politics and said, “Vacancies should be filled based on judicial needs rather than a political agenda.” But now, he’s flat out ignoring constituent letters to the editors, newspaper editorials, and the recent poll of likely voters calling on Sen. Portman to do his job.

“Sen. Portman has a lot to lose and very little to gain by following Mitch McConnell’s lead. Especially when he’s in the biggest fight of his political life, he should be paying attention to those letters to the editors, editorials, and op-eds in his home state newspapers than his Republican leadership,” said Eddie Vale, the Vice President of American Bridge 21st Century. “‘Let the people’s voice be heard’ is a good line from a politician, but you can’t ignore them when the […]

Hard to Hear Senator Grassley’s Excuses Over Voters’ Chants of #DoYourJob

As Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Chuck Grassley is leading the Republican caucus to a no-win situation by obstructing any Supreme Court nominee hearings. And voters at home aren’t happy with him. They’re letting their senior senator know through numerous letters to the editor and newspaper editorials to knock it off and do his job. In today’s Washington Post, “Grassley said he was not concerned about the editorials or other feedback he’s gotten from Iowans on the high-court vacancy. ‘You can’t worry about those things, so don’t even ask me about whether or not I’m worried about re-election,’ he said.”

“Sen. Grassley is second only to Donald Trump for the harm he’s doing to the Republican Party right now. Every incumbent senator on the ballot this year shouldn’t be walking the plank Chuck Grassley is leading […]

Hard to Hear Senator Toomey’s Excuses Over Voters’ Chants of #DoYourJob

Sen. Pat Toomey is one of the most outspoken opponents to replacing Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. He says he sees no point in meeting with any nominee, “…This is not about the qualifications of an individual,” he said. However, with the outpour of letters to the editorsnewspaper editorials, and a recent poll of likely voters calling for Sen. Toomey to rethink his position, Pennsylvania voters want their senator to do his job.

“Sen. Toomey isn’t even on the Senate Judiciary Committee, but he’s toeing the Republican Party line and ignoring his voters in an election year,” said Eddie Vale, the Vice President of American Bridge 21st Century. “‘Let the people’s voice be heard’ would be a lot more convincing if the people weren’t overwhelmingly shouting ‘Do Your Job, Sen. Toomey.’”

Hard to Hear Senator Ayotte’s Excuses Over Voters’ Chants of #DoYourJob

Sen. Kelly Ayotte isn’t even on the Senate Judiciary Committee, but she dug in her heels and refused to meet with any nominee to replace Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
However, an outpouring of letters to the editorsnewspaper editorials, and a recent poll of likely voters call on Sen. Ayotte to rethink her position, as New Hampshire voters want their senator to do her job.

“Sen. Ayotte is only listening to the Republican leadership at this point, and ignoring voters in the Granite State. Letters to the editors, editorials, and op-eds are pouring out across her home state newspapers, and still she’s going to obstruct the democratic process,” said Eddie Vale, the Vice President of American Bridge 21st Century. “‘Let the people’s voice be heard’ is a good line from a politician, but you can’t ignore them when […]

Rubio Cozies Up To The Kochs’ VA Privatization Advocacy Group

Marco Rubio is releasing his plan to partially privatize veterans healthcare today at a West Des Moines town hall event put on by Concerned Veterans for America, Charles and David Kochs’ “veterans advocacy” front group. The event will be all about shoring up Rubio’s “pro-veteran” credentials, but the truth is the Kochs and CVA — leading advocates of privatizing the VA — don’t have veterans’ best interests at heart. Case in point: Almost two-thirds of veterans oppose VA privatization, but that isn’t stopping the billionaire brothers from passing it off as a pro-veteran plan supported by the individuals they claim to represent.

It’s the Kochs we’re talking about, so that should come as no surprise. As revealed in a Bridge Project and VoteVets.Org report, “The Vets Group That Fights Against Veterans,” CVA promotes extreme, right-wing polices that stand in opposition to nearly every other veterans group. From pushing a plan to privatize the VA health […]

NEW REPORT: The Koch Brothers’ Granite State Project

NEW REPORT: The Koch Brothers’ Granite State Project

How The Radical Agenda Of Out Of State Oil Billionaires Has Hurt New Hampshire

Charles and David Koch pour hundreds of millions of dollars into our political system to advance their self-enriching agenda and elect their puppet candidates. At the national, state, and local level, the Kochs use their unlimited resources to influence policy to suit their political and personal needs.

For decades, the Kochs and their network of dark money political front groups have been pushing the Koch agenda in New Hampshire — perhaps more than any other state in the country— which has benefitted billionaires like the Kochs at the expense of Granite Staters.

Today, Bridge Project is releasing a new report, The Koch Brothers’ Granite State Project: How The Radical Agenda Of Out Of State Oil Billionaires Has Hurt New Hampshire, which lays out the scope and […]

Bridge Project Launches Facebook Canvas Ad Calling on Congress To Launch Special Investigation Into Trump-Russia Ties

Following the news that Jeff Sessions lied to Congress to cover up #RussiaGate, Bridge Project launched a new Facebook Canvas ad calling on Congress to demand a special prosecutor to investigate Donald Trump’s troubling ties to Russia.

The ad presents an immersive and detailed mobile account of Donald Trump and his administration’s cozy relationship with Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin, a scandal that has most certainly worsened after it was discovered that Jeff Sessions failed to disclose his meetings with the Russian ambassador during the 2016 campaign.

NEW FOCUS GROUP RESEARCH: VOTERS ARE TURNED OFF BY THE KOCH AGENDA & THEIR PUPPET CANDIDATES

In August, Bridge Project conducted six focus groups with swing voters in Iowa, Florida, and Nevada on the billionaire Koch brothers as they gear up to spend nearly $900 million pushing their agenda and backing their puppet candidates in 2016.

The focus groups revealed that to know the Kochs is to dislike them and that voters are turned off by their harmful, self-enriching agenda. It’s clear to voters that when the Kochs spend millions propping up their puppet candidates, the Kochs “expect something in return.”

To read the focus group memo, click here: http://bp21.co/kochgroups.

“In the eyes of voters, the Kochs’ harmful, self-enriching agenda and the hundreds of millions they spend backing their puppet candidates are strong turnoffs,” said Eddie Vale, Vice President of American Bridge 21st Century. “This research clarifies how Democrats can […]

MEMO: One Year Out: Kochs Put Their Anti-Middle Class Agenda & Actions On Center Stage

TO: Interested Parties

RE: One Year Out: Kochs Put Their Anti-Middle Class Agenda & Actions On Center Stage
DATE: November 3, 2015

With a year until Election Day, the billionaire Koch brothers are sitting down for their first-ever joint television interview with MSNBC’s Morning Joe. The Kochs’ step into the pubic limelight, albeit pre-taped from their childhood home and not live and on set, serves as a reminder that if Republicans and the Kochs win in 2016, the middle class loses.

While Republican candidates will spend the next year sucking up to the Kochs to try to get a piece of the nearly $900 million they plan to spend on 2016, they’ll also be forced to defend the Kochs’ anti-middle class actions and agenda that hurt real Americans.

While Morning Joe promises a discussion centering on the role of money in politics, the billionaire Koch brothers are poised to disguise how their […]
