Sanders Questions: #SeatJones Edition

President Trump backed a pro-slavery, anti-Semitic, homophobic, anti-Muslim sexual predator- and lost. Now it is time for him to do the right thing and urge his party to seat the elected Senator from Alabama, Democrat Doug Jones. There should be no vote on his tax bill, or any other major legislation, until that happens.

American Bridge Rapid Response Director Emily Aden calls on White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to answer the following questions:

1. In 2010, President Trump praised Barack Obama for urging the Democratic majority in the Senate to delay voting on Obamacare until Scott Brown was sworn in, which they did. Why won’t Trump do the same now and direct Mitch McConnell delay a vote on the tax bill until Doug Jones is seated?

2. What is the President doing to commemorate the five year anniversary of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School that left 20 first-graders […]

Sanders Questions: Election Day Edition

It is Election Day in Alabama and the whole country is watching to see if President Trump’s candidate will prevail despite his rampant racist rhetoric and history of sexually abusing children. Disgustingly, but to the surprise of absolutely no one, President Trump kicked off the day by calling the women who have accused him of sexual misconduct liars (again) and sexually harassing Senator Kirsten Gillibrand on Twitter. He has no shame and it is up to those in his own party and in his own Administration to speak out against this behavior.

American Bridge Rapid Response Director Emily Aden calls on White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to answer the following questions:

1. Why is President Trump so afraid of powerful women like Senator Gillibrand?

2. Would President Trump cooperate in a congressional investigation into the dozens of sexual harassment and sexual assault allegations against him?

3. Secretary Mnuchin promised multiple times that the […]

Sanders Questions: Women Are Watching Edition

Today, the White House doubled down on attacking three of the nineteen women who have accused President Trump of sexual misconduct as liars on a “publicity tour.” Fittingly, Trump also released a robocall in support of  child sexual predator Roy Moore on the eve of Election Day in Alabama. This administration continues to sink to new lows of disrespecting women and each and every person who enables President Trump to remain in the Oval Office should be ashamed.

American Bridge Rapid Response Director Emily Aden calls on White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to answer the following questions:

1. How can President Trump stump for a bill that will take money away from the bottom 95% of Americans by 2027?

2. Did President Trump keep Michael Flynn on as National Security Adviser for 18 days after being warned about Flynn by the Justice Department because he was the one who directed Flynn […]

Sanders Questions: Beginning Of The End Edition

It’s the beginning of the end for President Trump and the Republican Congress to find a way to keep the government open despite controlling the executive and legislative branches of government themselves. Perhaps part of the problem is President Trump is busy hawking books by Fox and Friends anchors online rather than negotiating agreements on outstanding issues like CHIP funding, the fate of the Dreamers, and final details of his massive tax cut for the wealthy.

American Bridge Rapid Response Director Emily Aden calls on White House Press Sarah Huckabee Sanders to answer the following questions:

1. What is President Trump doing to protect 800,000 young Dreamers, whose futures are at risk because of his callousness and ineptitude in Congress, during this end of the year funding scramble?

2. Did President Trump instruct Donald Trump Jr. to invoke attorney client privilege when asked by the House Intelligence Committee about their conversations after news broke […]

Sanders Questions: Welcome To Hell Edition

The ladies of Saturday Night Live got it so right this weekend. “Welcome to hell, now we’re all in here…” and perhaps you more than some since you are literally working for a sexual predator and getting paid to lie for him every day. Between the ongoing fallout of President Trump’s endorsement of child molester Roy Moore, to Special Counsel Mueller getting closer to Trump’s finances, to contradicting statements from members of Trump’s legal team and Attorney General Sessions about whether a president can commit obstruction of justice, the White House certainly has its hands full today.

American Bridge Rapid Response Director Emily Aden calls on White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to answer the following questions:

1. What is the White House response to court hearings today in Summer Zervos’ defamation lawsuit against President Trump for attacking her over accusations he sexually assaulted her in 2007 while filming The Apprentice?

2. […]

Sanders Questions: Musical Chairs Edition

The White House didn’t even wait for Friday to dump the news of yet another senior level shake up. This time, it’s Secretary of State Rex Tillerson who is reportedly leaving his post to make way for CIA Director Mike Pompeo. Coming one day after President Trump was condemned by British Prime Minister Theresa May for spreading anti-Muslim hate propaganda–an unprecedented move from one of our greatest allies—it is clear the Trump Administration’s foreign policy apparatus is in complete disarray and the only man to blame is Donald Trump himself.

American Bridge Rapid Response Director Emily Aden calls on White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to answer the following questions:

1. Is Donald Trump bringing in Mike Pompeo to the State Department to further assure Vladimir Putin he does not condemn Russia’s attack on the 2016 election?

2. By 2027, people making $40,000 to $50,000 would pay a combined $5.3 billion more in taxes, […]

Sanders Questions: Your Favorite President (Me) Edition

President Trump is back in action after the holiday break and entering a crucial period where he must finally prove to his supporters that he can get things done. The country shouldn’t hold its breath. For Trump, cutting taxes for the rich remains at the top of the list, but with health care for millions of children, disaster relief, and the status of 800,000 young Americans in this country all at stake, the President appears to be taking his responsibilities as serious as ever by reigniting his Putin-style feud against the free press.

American Bridge Rapid Response Director Emily Aden calls on White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to answer the following questions:

1. Does the President understand how threatening a reality-TV style competition to discredit the national media is damaging to our democracy and the First Amendment?

2. Yesterday the nonpartisan CBO says that the Senate tax plan will raise taxes […]

Sanders Questions: Gaming the System Edition

It’s been nearly two weeks since the first Roy Moore allegations broke, and since then more women have come forward with stories of their own. President Donald Trump has refused to condemn the Republican candidate for Senate, instead saying it’s up to the people of Alabama to decide. It’s become clear that President Trump would rather have tax cuts for the wealthy than protect children from sexual assault.

American Bridge Trump War Room Communications Director Harrell Kirstein calls on White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to answer the following questions:

1. Does the President agree with his counselor Kellyanne Conway that getting votes for tax cuts is more important than an alleged sexual assaulter representing the state of Alabama in the Senate?

2. Is it fair that the Trump administration needs to “game the system” in order to get the votes to pass tax reform, as Budget Director […]

Sanders Questions: Bully-In-Chief Edition

It’s been one day since the deadly terrorist attack in New York City and President Trump is taunting the home state Senator on Twitter with lies about his record and calling for immigration bans steeped in Islamophobia. As we’ve sadly come to expect from this President, he has shown once again moments that require leadership, unity, and compassion completely evade him.

American Bridge Rapid Response Director Emily Aden calls on White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to answer the following questions:

1. Why is President Trump calling for policy changes right out of the gate after yesterday’s terrorist attack in New York City but insisted it was not time talk about reforms after the terrorist attack in Las Vegas that killed 59 people and injured more than 500 more?

2. Does President Trump support Senator Grassley’s legislation to enforce registration under the Foreign Agents Registration Act in the wake of Paul Manafort’s […]

1. How did President Trump spend $1.75 million in taxpayer dollars on furniture and decorating costs for the White House but can’t spare a dime to address the opioid crisis?
